I've lived in Eugene for most of my life and had never been to the top of Spencer's. Some friends of mine have been encouraging me to walk and hike more for a more healthy life style so hiking the butte this last week was an awesome work out. I am BIG and out of shape but with a little positive help from the Big Boy Hiking Club I was able to reach the top and back.

Now when I am driving to work and I see the butte I say to myself "I've been to the top of that".
It was so beautiful and it was awesome to see some of the old growth trees on the trail. The butte is truly one of the greatest places in the county. I can't wait to do it again.
